When the building blocks of justice are rooted in human capacity and emotion to affect change, how does it transform our collective experience of justice? Anand Gandhi, in conversation with 3 young justicemakers; Vibha Nadig, Disha Wadekar and Suhaib Salman.
Anand Gandhi, Founder of Memesys (Moderator)
Anand is a filmmaker and entrepreneur deeply interested in epistemology, evolutionary biology, systems design, and the future. He founded the new media studio and systems think tank, Memesys to explore narratives that encourage us to think and play. He’s the writer & director of the critically acclaimed “Ship of Theseus” and “Tumbbad”, and producer of “SHASN”, the competitive political strategy board game.
Vibha Nadig, Founder of OutLawed
Vibha is a 4th-year law student at NLSIU, who believes in educational equity and wants to make legal education accessible to everyone. She founded OutLawed in her 2nd year to educate school and college students on laws through simplified content that is understandable to persons across socio-economic and regional backgrounds. She is also a member of Reap Benefit’s Youth Board.
Suhaib Salman, Creative Head at Lawctopus & Founder of Unpadh Wakeel
Suhaib studied law at Jammu University and NALSAR Hyderabad, and has since been exploring how transfusing art and law can de-mystify complex legal jargon to increase legal awareness in society. He is using photography and theatre as an ice-breaker to talk about the law at Lawctopus and Unpadh Wakeel, and is highlighting the plight of Rohingya Refugees an EU ALLY Fellow.
Disha Wadekar, Co-Founder of CEDE
Disha is an advocate practising in the Supreme Court of India, taking up cases of constitutional law, discrimination and atrocities against SC/ST communities. She founded the Community for the Eradication of Discrimination in Education and Employment (CEDE) to enable a network of professionals to afford due representation and participation of marginalised communities in the justice system.
