The pandemic has exponentially magnified the issues faced by migrants and we are now in need of diverse solutions with new perspectives.
Hypothesizing Solutions for Migrant Workers
Make-A-Thon for Migrant Workers
The Make-a-thon is a 15 day journey, beginning with a workshop that sets out the socio-legal landscape of migrant workers in India and the approach to designing effective solutions to the challenges they face. Following this, participants will form teams and develop solutions with the support of experienced mentors and domain experts from the Aajeevika Bureau community.

First Mentor Meeting
"Day 1: Smile, the beatings will continue till morale improves... The day was long. A student's tenacity to leave a task till the last moment and then regret should never be underestimated. In the background of a looming Project Submission deadline, the first official team meeting was convened. Team rapport was not an issue; we all were from the same university and after all, misery loves company. Attentions were gradually weaned away from solutions to bypass Turnitin to Make-a-thon's Problem Statement. Soon, we realised how out of depth we were. Ground Realities were not our strong suit, regardless we managed to narrow it down to two problem statements. Both these problems were something that we, as law students, found the need for. The first problem that we decided upon was to help migrants calculate their wages, and the second one revolved around keeping track of their attendance, two issues that we believe are strongly interrelated. We parted ways after the call, with a promise to meet again."

Team Meeting 2
"Day 2: No Night Is Long Enough for Us to Dream Twice... Dusted off the grime of the past day. The new day presented its own set of opportunities and troubles. There's a team meeting scheduled for tomorrow; riding the high of the Gartner Hype Cycle, we prepare with great enthusiasm. Don't know how we will deal with the eventual lows. But that's a thought for another day, for tonight we dine in peace."
